The objective for this social “game” is to collect crowd-sourced opinions about how similar products are. Game players connect using either FaceBook or Twitter credentials. Sets of product images are shown to the player who is then asked to mark which is most similar to the primary product image. Similarity is based solely on viewing the images.
The responses are collected and sent to a server for further analysis. The user may also favorite products that are particularly appealing and can share their opinions via Twitter.
FocalShift built the mobile app, designed the REST API and built an Objective-C library to access the server using REST Kit. The app is part of a larger e-commerce product curation initiative for the client and has not yet been released.
