SNAP Patient Registration
This application was built for a medical startup. They are building a solution that addresses inefficiencies in the patient registration process within medical offices. FocalShift built the iPad application used by patients to fill out registration forms.
The system architecture was created by FocalShift. A REST API was specified to handle tracking of all patient encounters, forms and health care provider information. The API was implemented on a Linux server using Python and TastyPie. The Objective-C client library used to communicate with the server was built on top of AFNetworking and uses Objective-C blocks.
A key challenge with this app was to make it easy for non-iPad aware users (older patients who may have never used an iPad before) while still staying true to the design philosophy of iOS. To achieve this we created a set of custom UI components to meet the requirements of the client.
